Food Horizon and celebrity chef Tony Tobin recently participated in National Food Safety week. This year 5 Surrey Schools were visited to teach the basic rules of food hygiene with the support of Mole Valley and Reigate & Banstead Environmental Health Departments. This knowledge was then put to the test with the children identifying the mistakes made by Tony in his very entertaining ‘calamity kitchen’ with Scruffy the dog.
The event was once again a huge success and given an added dimension this year with Tony donating 6 ‘Golden Tickets’ to each school to raffle for children to win ‘Tea with Tony Tobin’ at his new restaurant Post in Banstead when it opens later this year. Proceeds will be going to charities including CHASE, Barnardos, The Earthquake Appeal and The National Epilepsy Association.
